Provide administrative and strategic oversight for the fundraising programs which includes fund development information management financial administration and fiscal reporting. Plan direct and implement a fundraising program. Act as staff liaison and report fundraising results to the Board of Directors.
Establish goals for the development function including annual budget strategic planning and helping to articulate program outcomes and measurements. Give assistance in identifying recruiting orienting and coaching of all financial development volunteer positions. Establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with corporate foundation and individual donors.
Identify and apply for state and federal funding. Manage stewardship and recognition of donors and volunteers. Ensure that donor files and records are maintained accurately and in accordance with IRS guidelines. Ensure appropriate gift policies are in place and up to date. Ensure reconciliation of all revenues and development related expenses. Promote the mission and programs in a passionate positive manner to members the larger community and the media.
Cultivate community support from individual’s organizations foundations and government agencies. Develop promotional and fundraising materials. Manage the timely communication to internal and external constituents through direct mail publications web-based communications and print and live media. Coordinate programs and special events to strengthen relationships with key constituent groups especially volunteers business partners and member families. Positions report directly to the CEO.
Requirements: 3 or more years experience in non-profit work and understanding of fund development principles and ethics. Development experience that includes major gifts success the ability to build strong relationships with donors and prospects and the ability to initiate new fundraising contacts and activities. Proficiency in computer software programs and development software programs Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership and management skills.
