Perform clinical laboratory testing for all patient types in a timely efficient and accurate manner in accordance with state federal and other regulatory requirements. Competently perform all assigned departmental duties.
May perform Pre-Analytical tasks including receipt, qualification, and preparation of samples for testing], CLIA waived tests, and moderate and/or high complexity testing on patient, donors, or biologic products using routine chemistries utilizing automated / semi-automated methods with internal support systems.
Recognize and report unusual test results in a timely manner to appropriate management. Operate equipment utilizing established protocols and within quality control limits. Report all equipment malfunction and/or technical problems and take appropriate steps to resolve. Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and maintain reports/records and perform computer data entry, and maintain departmental supplies within established inventory levels. Perform maintenance quality control and quality assurance for all testing performed in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and departmental policies and procedures. This is a Monday thru Friday Day shift.
Requirements: Must be ASCP Medical Technologist and have four years of formal education or training beyond high school or B.S. B.A. degree. Experience in actively participating in process improvement to enhance turnaround times and quality of test results utilizing decision making and troubleshooting skills. Effectively communicates and demonstrates good customer service throughout the health system to include nursing staff physicians patients co-workers and other customers and employees.
