Provide system-wide support to all levels of management with respect to the Charge Description Master including issues regarding CPT-4 and Revenue coding compliance pricing for all clinical services data retrieval file maintenance analysis and training.
1. Manage and maintain the Charge Description Master. 2. Analyze financial impact of changes to the Charge Master. 3. Assist clinical managers in establishing new services and implementing changes in departmental charge methodology. 4. Coordinate all Charge Master updates with Information Systems to ensure that all production systems external to the patient accounting system reflect the required changes. 5. Coordinate interdisciplinary council meetings for review and update of coding prices and services. 6. Provide education to users of Charge Master on rate setting policies and procedures. 7. Work with Corporate Compliance to resolve all Charge Master related billing coding or compliance issues. 8. Work with Managed Care staff to ensure that all billed clinical services and products are coded as required by the facility contracts with third-party payors. 9. Adheres to all the facility policies procedures and standards within budgetary specifications including time management supply management productivity and accuracy of practice. 10. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education skills competency supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Business related discipline or Information Systems Analysis OR equivalent combination of education/experience. 2. Six years of healthcare finance public accounting or industry financial analysis with broad exposure to PC and mainframe computer systems budgeting financial analysis and clinical operations. 3. Must have direct experience in rate setting Charge Master maintenance and CPT coding. 4. Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating both Behaviors and Operating Principles in all internal and external customer interactions. • EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Accounting business related discipline or Information Systems Analysis OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
