Will lead a multi-shift manufacturing team involving continuous coordination of production-related activities workforce planning and labor relations and effective communication in order to meet production objectives and customer expectations with the highest standard of quality efficiency safety and housekeeping. The Production Manager acts as a senior mentor and coach for Operations Team Leader(s).
Drive standard work and 5S Initiatives throughout the organization. Support the implementation of ELS (Enterprise Lean Sigma) and Six Sigma initiatives including employee training. Mentor Six Sigma Green Belt candidates ensuring project cost saving targets are met.
Support ISO 9001 and 14001 initiatives, provide training quarterly reviews and support to safety team as needed. Conduct accident investigations as needed. Work with Occupational Health Nurse to manage return to work/workforce restrictions as appropriate.
Requirements: 5-10 years manufacturing operations experience including 5+ years manufacturing management experience. Experience within chemical industry preferred but not required. Experience managing and sustaining lean manufacturing tools and processes including Kaizens 5S Standard Work and Waste Reduction. Analyzing problems and issues delegating and monitoring assignments driving for results engaging and inspiring others exercising insightful judgment inspiring trust leading courageously and promoting collaboration.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic fast pace and rapidly changing environment while effectively managing and meeting the high level of manufacturing demands which includes a 50+ hour work week. Ability to work comfortably within a fast-paced and matrixed organization built around team concepts and structures.
