The Business Director will have Profit and Loss responsibility and the ability to direct the strategic planning process for your business sector. Work with other departments in the company including engineering sales finance and manufacturing.
This involves defining products understanding end-customer applications and markets and competitive analyses. Prospective Business Directors need a strong technical background.
• Lead an effort to organize product-development strategies and roadmaps. • Compile information regarding market segments and customer needs. • Select new product ideas for development. • Lead a team that writes the objective specification for new devices. • Track the development of your new products and resolve problems to keep them on schedule. • Lead the merchandising strategy for your products. • Oversee writing of the data sheet advertising pricing and coordinating the announcement. • Analyze the competition to determine their areas of focus direction and relative strengths and weaknesses. • Manage the quoting process for new orders and direct the sales and field applications teams towards finding new design wins. • Travel worldwide about 20% of the time to get personally involved with high-volume customers. • Manage the manufacturing of your products to ensure supply matches customer demand. • Develop and maintain a 5-year revenue and resource plan for your business, will present business plan regularly to upper management.
Requirements: • Experience with analog circuits with a focus in wireless communications is recommended. • 5 - 10 years of professional experience in applications / marketing / business management in either the semiconductor industry or wireless communication industry • Competitive nature and a desire to win. • Team-oriented with good leadership and communication skills, ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking mode and to maintain a sense of priorities while responding to daily interruptions.
