Reviews analyzes and makes recommendations for the proper underwriting of prospective and in-force accounts with respect to quoting new benefits modifying existing coverages explaining contract provisions and/or the determining of a renewal position.
Works collaboratively with assigned sales regions to produce quality proposals that result in acquiring or maintaining profitable business.
Utilize approved rating approaches on prospective and renewal business consistent with departmental policies including the appropriate application of periodic discount strategies, and for the profitability of an assigned block of business (state and/or agency).
Accepts Risk - makes the financial decision that affects the sale of new business and the retention of renewal business. Reviews the accuracy and timeliness of manual rates proposals and renewal notification letters, assist in the training of the pricing analysts.
Requirements: 3 years of underwriting experience 2 years of group underwriting experience.
