Position will report to the Director of Medical Records and will assist the Director fulfill deliverables. Strong medical records experience training and any certifications is a major plus (Certified Record Technician). Competitive pay based on experience level and current (or past) compensation plan. Organize and evaluate patient medical records, review medical records for accuracy and completeness. Abstract and code clinical data using standard classification system.
Responsible for the overall completeness of the medical record and ensuring physician compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Indiana State Department of Health guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services. Prepares records for use during patient care and processes them after patient discharge ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.
Associate's degree or its equivalent with 2 plus years of experience in the field or in a related area. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Use instructions and pre-established facilities guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
