Will deliver clinical pharmacy services, optimizing the quality of patient care. Initiate and participate in clinical rounds and research. Instruct medical, nursing, pharmacy residents, students and staff, about proper drug therapy.
Conduct QI activities and keep accurate records. Oversee in-service education/orientation of pharmacy and nursing personnel. Manage information transfer for medications for patients converted to inpatient care; educate patients about discharge medications.
Requirements: Must be Pharm. D. (preferred) or BS in Pharmacy required, along with an Emergency Medicine and/or a Critical care residency (PGY2) or acceptable clinical on-the-job training. State pharmacy license and good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy is required.
Pharmacy utilizes bar code technology to reduce medication errors. Experience with automated dispensing machines such as Pyxis, Omnicell, AcuDose, orROBOT-Rx systems,. Experience working in a large hospital in critical care or emergency department or have completed a PGY2 residency in critical care or emergency medicine.
