Responsible for the management coordination integration evaluation reporting and educational activities of the Epidemiology/Infection Prevention and Control Program.
This includes coordinating efforts with Employee Health Patient Safety Risk Management and other clinical areas to ensure a safe environment for patients employees associates volunteers physicians and visitors.
The position will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs and will supervise the following areas: Infection Control Epidemiologists Surveillance Coordinator Epidemiology Infection Control Associate Grant Funded Research Nurses and others assigned to the Epidemiology Department.
Requirements: - Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in Nursing - Two+ years of proven leadership experience in acute care hospital infection prevention required - CIC certification as offered by the Certification Board for Infection Control (CBIC) highly preferred. - Demonstrated ability to function and communicate with all professional disciplines in an appropriate and effective manner is essential.
• EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing current RN license in Georgia (or eligible) required with Masters preferred
