The Speech Pathologist will be responsible for providing a variety of Speech and Language therapy treatment protocols for patients to acute care patients; skilled nursing unit patients; and outpatients; as well as home health and some nursing facility contracts in the local area for both inpatient and outpatients on all ages of patients.
The person will be responsible for all patient care treatment plans as directed by the physicians. The ideal individual should have with some experience as a Speech Language Pathology Therapist in an acute care setting. The candidate should have the ability to relate to patients staff and communicate effectively with all staff members and physicians.
Requirements: Masters Degree in Speech Pathology with at least 1-2 years clinical experience in speech therapy is preferred. Preference will be given to experienced therapists with acute care backgrounds. A Texas Speech-Language Pathologist License and must have their Certificate of Clinical Competence and have experience with modified barium studies and dysphagia treatment. Patients range in age from pediatric to geriatric. New graduates will be considered.
EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and be able to obtain a license in the State of Texas
