Work under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, and according to written procedures, the Staff Pharmacist compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies to Inpatients and outpatients upon receiving written prescription orders. Pharmacist for a Monday thru Friday, Day Shift. Must have Bachelors or Pharm D. Degree, Pharmacist License. Previous working experience in a hospital is desired.
Follow established guidelines and procedures related to the unit dose method of dispensing, including IV admixtures. Assumes responsibility for supervision of pharmacy operations in absence of the Director, or Technician Supervisor, assistance with the control of ordering, receiving, and storage of all pharmaceuticals within the department and the hospital. Also responsible for the dispensing of the following:
750 IV admixtures daily 2,250 units of medications daily 200 out-patient prescriptions. Will educate patients on the use of their medications and monitoring of medication administration through profile reviews, as well as active participation in clinical programs. Must be state licensed. Reciprocity must be applied for and accomplished, if licensed in another state. Board exam must be passed at first offered date, if new graduate.
