Direct coordinate and exercise authority for process planning budgeting and procurement of tooling and gaging manufacturing processes and parameters product quality delivery and interface on customer projects. Develop component process plans and manage the design and build of tooling and gages utilizing internal and external sources.
• Lead tooling brainstorming meeting to conceive tooling and gaging approach. • Prepare budget and schedule for each assigned project. • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles company standards customer contract requirements and related specifications. • Manage process development including machining parameters and all related documentation. • Evaluate and approves design changes specifications. And drawing releases. • Travels to supplier locations to integrate suppliers into the project as required. • Prepare project reports for management and customers. • Ensure the continuous process tooling and gaging improvements. • Coordinate with management engineering and other staff regarding machine capability production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes. • Apply statistical methods to estimate future machining requirements and to improve process performance. • Experience using CAD software.
Requirements: • 5 plus years in manufacturing • Experience with CMM gaging and SPC • Working knowledge of the creep feed grinding process • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending • Physical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently • Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications Travel: Minimal – 10-15 percent
