Performs evaluations, selects and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of facility products. Oversees the installation modification upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Perform troubleshooting maintenance design and project work related to rotating equipment and production unit.
Establishes programs and solutions for increasing up time and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules. Position reports to Front End Engineering Manager.
Requirements: 5-7 years experience as maintenance or mechanical reliability engineer in a manufacturing facility preferably chemical plant or oil refinery with strong rotating equipment background. Experience in compressors pumps seals dryers (hopefully) rotating machinery. Ability to set up vibration analysis system. Experience troubleshooting and specifying equipment upgrades for seals compressor parts etc. Must be able to determine material of construction upgrades for shafts etc.
