Create models to predict compressor failure rates and failure mode rates for all compressors .. Use Six Sigma tools standardize and improve the statistical significance of current failure rate and failure mode prediction techniques. Work with customers suppliers and compressor engineering to develop a statistical analysis of failure rates/ failure modes to implement warranty reduction programs. Work closely with customers suppliers and compressor product/quality leaders to create reliability goals objectives and risk assessments.
Correlate laboratory failure rates and modes with field failure rates and modes for improving highly-accelerated life tests. Participate in the definition of customer and product reliability requirements. Schedule and lead reliability/failure status meetings. Prepare reliability updates and report to leadership. Report status of compressor warranty versus warranty projections due to improvements. Maintain reliability scorecards for new compressor designs. Maintain Cost of Quality metrics
Requirements: • Bachelors degree required preferably in an engineering or -related field of study • Ability to work with all levels of management to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions using six sigma methodology • Ability to analyze statistical data and develop recommendations, strong computer skills required experience in Excel/Access preferred. • Good verbal written and interpersonal communication skills • Experience in statistics reliability prediction techniques and data base management preferred • Experience in design and manufacture of HVAC equipment and/or compressors preferred -Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing required. • Strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills must be customer-focused team oriented and results driven. • Six Sigma green or Blackbelt desirable.
