Clinical Nurse Specialist must be an experienced nurse specializing promoting competent, compassionate and professional nursing care for patients/families across the continuum. The role includes clinical practice, teaching, consultation, and research.
Responsible for the advancement of clinical practice in the Emergency Department (ED). Clinical Nurse Specialist who can function independently and act as a clinical leader supporting staff to meet the demands of advances in technology and care.
Assists others in achieving desired outcomes through direct and indirect care activities with the patient and family, nursing personnel and other health care practitioners, and organizational systems. Position reports to the Nurse Director and is an integral member of the units nursing leadership team.
Requirements: Masters degree in Nursing required. Current RN license and ACLS required. 5 years acute care experience with 3 yrs in the Emergency Dept required. 2 years as CNS preferred. Current license as an RN Masters degree in Nursing required Certification as a CNS or in area of specialty is required or must be attained within one year of hire Five years acute care nursing experience required, three years of which are in Emergency Nursing Two years experience as a CNS is preferred Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
