Purchase assigned materials with focus on delivery and cost parameters. Obtains costing and delivery information to support proposal activity. Resolves receiving rejection and accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with suppliers regarding delivery requirements. Maintains and reports material status or problems to supervision. Prepares documentation complaint with governmental or corporate policy at intermediate levels.
• Source and place requisitions for price quality and delivery - responsible for maintaining valid and correct data base for delivery cost and quantity. • Utilizes good judgment in determining the best overall source selection and is successful in cost-saving efforts. • Manage accounts for purchase order status for others or own contacts. • Good working knowledge of components and generally understands military or customer specifications. • Handle basic quality issues and can communicate and discuss issues with the supplier. • May attend shortage meetings to submit input or informs supervision of anticipated problems. • Respond to staff and management requests for information or expediting. • Assist in training new Buyers Associate Buyer as and they progress through department levels. • • Perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements: - five years of related experience and/or training - combination of education and experience. - strong computer skills desirable. Proficiency in Excel Word and Access. - Ability to handle dynamic environment and workload necessary.
