The Quality Coordinator assists in the implementation of processes to ensure ongoing compliance with the Joint Commission
Will work with the Medical Staff to identify peer review indicators for each of the specialties - the coordinator screens patient documents against those indicators, SIM+ indicators, and Core Measures indicators, and brings certain cases to the Medical Staff for their review and action. The Quality Coordinator will also work with DCQI to assist in the support of Quality Improvement initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a working knowledge of quality improvement principles and methodologies utilized in health care. A working knowledge of the Joint Commission and its processes and standards. Commitment to the basic philosophy generally described in Total Quality Management (TQM) and ability to embody this philosophy in the workplace. An affirming style of leadership in working with others.
Knowledge of adult education theory and practice and the ability to plan, organize and lead educational sessions. Knowledge of computer technologies, including operating and application software. Good listening, writing and oral communication skills. Ability to assess and to explain data from broad perspective.
